Philosophy and Beliefs (Religious Education)

Back

The principal aim of religious education is to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live. This is so that learners can gain the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to handle questions raised by religion and worldviews while reflecting on their own their ideas and considering ways of living in an ever-changing world. By studying RE, learners should develop an understanding of the diversity of religious communities in the UK, and be equipped with the skills of clear communication, evaluation and comparison of their own and others' choices.
