Yoto Carnegie medal

Last week, nine SMCC students from years 7 and 8 represented SMCC at an event at Bideford College organised by Devon Schools Library Service to celebrate the prestigious Yoto Carnegie medal for writing.  This year, many of our students have been reading the seven shortlisted books and these students gave a dramatic presentation on one of the shortlisted books, The Light in Everything by Katya Balen.  The event was attended by other schools from across North Devon, who all had to give a presentation on one of the shortlisted books and our students gave a fabulous performance.  The students involved have worked very hard over the last few weeks to make sure our presentation went well, and they should all be congratulated for their hard work.
