Student of the week

Alice, Year 9 has been selected as this week's Principal’s Student of the Week.

This nomination has been made by Mr Avery, Head of Computer Science.  In celebration of the life and work of Alan Turing, the SMCC Computer Science Department launched a challenge for all pupils to solve some codes and puzzles which would reveal the location of a prize.  The competition was launched on the 23rd June which would have been Turing's birthday and was also the launch day for the new £50 note carrying his image.

Alice was the first student to solve the puzzle and locate the prize. In fact she completed the tasks within an hour!
